Things to Do in Bixby This Weekend Along the Fall Corridor

South Memorial Drive between 111th and 181st isn't long. You can drive it in about eight minutes on a Sunday morning with no lights working against you. What has changed in the last two years is what sits along that stretch: a bike shop that stages a thousand-rider poker ride, a 29,000-square-foot pickleball hall, the home stadium of the defending 6A-1 state champions, and a working ranch that turns into a fall festival every October.

If you live in Bixby, this is the sentence that matters. Your weekend rhythm from August through October now fits inside a corridor most of your neighbors already drive past every day.

The corridor as a single object

For years the honest answer to "what do you do here on a Saturday?" was some version of "drive to Tulsa." That answer no longer holds. The events below aren't a roundup of unrelated things happening in the same ZIP code. They share a spine.

Blazing Saddles rolls out of 8315 E. 111th. Courts and Commons sits at 7921 E. 119th Drive. Bixby High is a mile east. 181 Ranch is at 3913 E. 181st St. S. Four anchors, one road.

The point isn't that Bixby is suddenly a destination. The point is that a resident's fall calendar can be written without leaving the corridor, and that changes how you think about where you already live.

August 8: the ride that starts at the bike shop

Blazing Saddles is on Saturday, August 8, 2026, staged out of Bixby Bicycles at 8315 E. 111th St. S. Packet pickup is Aug. 7 from noon to 6 p.m., registration opens at 5:30 a.m. race day, and the sub-5 group leaves at 6:30 with everyone else rolling at 7:30.

A few details worth knowing if you've never done it:

• Route options run from short neighborhood loops up to a 103-mile century, so a family can ride the 7 or 13-mile and still be back for lunch.
• The ride is structured as a poker run. Riders draw a five-card hand after crossing the finish, dealt by staff on loan from Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
• Proceeds go to Team Suicide Prevention and its partners, including the 988 hotline, the Coffee Bunker, Hope is Alive, and Hope is Oxygen. The event has been running since 2018.

If you're not riding, the corridor between 111th and 121st fills with cyclists all morning. Plan errands accordingly, or set a chair out front. It's one of the few days a year Bixby feels like a town watching its own event.

119th Drive: what a pickleball hall actually did to the neighborhood

Courts and Commons opened in spring 2025 at 7921 E. 119th Drive. Josh Juarez, who built Josh's Sno Shack starting in 2005 when he was 19, put eight indoor pickleball courts, one outdoor court on an island in the middle of a pond, four locally owned restaurant concepts, and a full-service bar under one roof. Hours run 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 to 11 Friday and Saturday, and 10 to 10 on Sunday.

Two numbers explain why residents keep going back rather than treating it as a one-time novelty. AM open play runs $5. PM open play runs $10. That's below what most drop-in rec centers charge for a gym-floor court with tape lines, and Courts and Commons is a dedicated facility.

The reason to flag Haikey Creek in the same breath as Courts and Commons is that residents miss it. It's a Tulsa County park physically inside Bixby, with lighted outdoor courts and no fee, and it functions as the overflow for the paid venues on nights when league play locks up 119th Drive.

The food hall side matters too. Juarez has said publicly he took cues from Mother Road Market and from Chicken N Pickle in Oklahoma City, but wanted something that read as Bixby, not a franchise plug-in. On Friday nights there's live music on the outdoor turf. Bring a folding chair, don't play, and you've still done the corridor's Friday.

The Friday that reorients everything

The Bixby Spartans finished 2025 at 13-0 and ended the year ranked No. 1 in Oklahoma, notching the program's 11th state title while averaging 60.3 points per game across 13 games. The 2026 opener is Aug. 28 at Owasso, then Stillwater on Sept. 4 and Jenks on Sept. 11.

For a resident, that schedule is the corridor's clock. On home Fridays, Memorial slows down around 6:30, the stadium lot fills by 6:45, and by kickoff Courts and Commons is quieter than usual because half the town is a mile east. On road Fridays like the opener at Owasso, the pattern flips and Courts and Commons packs.

You don't have to be a football family to use this rhythm. It's a scheduling fact. If you want a quiet dinner at the food hall in September, pick a home game night.

October 9: the far end

Fall at The Ranch at 181 Ranch, 3913 E. 181st St. S., runs Friday, Oct. 9, 2026 from 10 a.m. Historically the event has drawn tickets at the gate rather than online, with children ten and under free, vendors focused on handmade and vintage, food trucks, and the ranch's own mimosa program. 181 Ranch also runs Christmas at The Ranch on Dec. 4, which extends the corridor's calendar past football and into the holiday stretch.

The reason to think of 181st as the same corridor rather than a separate destination is the drive. From Courts and Commons at 119th to the ranch gate at 181st is roughly seven minutes on a Saturday morning. From Bixby Bicycles at 111th, about eight. You can ride Blazing Saddles, eat at the food hall the following week, sit at Spartan Stadium the Friday after that, and be at 181 Ranch by mid-October, and never point your car north.

What this actually means if you already live here

Two things.

First, the argument that Bixby is a bedroom community that empties out on weekends is now several years out of date. The corridor between 111th and 181st is a self-contained weekend loop, and it's the reason houses on the east side of Memorial are quietly becoming easier to talk about with buyers who used to insist on south Tulsa.

Second, the value of proximity to Memorial has shifted. It used to mean "close to Reasor's and 121st." Now it means "close to the ride start, the courts, the stadium, and the ranch, in that order." That's a real change in what your address does for you on a Saturday, and it's worth naming out loud.
